Objectives:

At the Andean Cultural Center of Rhode Island, we have a number of objectives that guide our work to preserve and promote the cultural richness of the Andean countries. These include:

  • Reuniting people of Andean descent who live in Rhode Island: We believe that it is important for members of the Andean community to have a place to come together and connect with their cultural heritage. That's why we work to bring people of Andean descent together through a variety of programs and events.

  • Easing the socialization process for individuals and families who immigrate from Andean countries: We understand that immigrating to a new country can be a challenging and overwhelming experience. That's why we offer support and advice to help ease the socialization process for individuals and families who have recently immigrated from Andean countries.

  • Promoting and developing intellectual, social, religious, economic, and civic activities: We believe that cultural exchange and engagement is important for personal and community growth. That's why we work to promote and develop a wide range of activities that encourage intellectual, social, religious, economic, and civic engagement within the Andean community.

  • Preserving the Andean cultures, particularly the Quechua and Aymara cultures: The Quechua and Aymara cultures are an integral part of the Andean cultural heritage. That's why we work to preserve these cultures and pass them down to future generations through a variety of programs and events.

  • Educating the public about Andean culture: We believe that cultural understanding and appreciation are important for building a strong and inclusive community. That's why we work to educate the public about the rich cultural traditions of the Andean countries through a variety of programs and events.
